After 4 years, we are finally getting a new team swimsuit! Yay!!! We encourage any swimmer who still fits in their old team suit to use it for practice. Team suits should be worn for meets only.
We realize that for families with more than one swimmer, registration can be a bit much at one time. So, we are giving families more than two months "heads-up." You may start making payments now on your registration by sending a check to Jorge Delport - 1225 S Enns, Reedley, CA 93654. Please make all checks out to Reedley Marlins and write your swimmers' names in the memo line. You can pick up your receipt(s) on registration day. All registration monies are due in full by April 5th. Any swimmer whose registration is not paid will not be allowed to swim.
Because we had to move the Coaches interview dates, we are extending the application period to Friday, January 22nd. All applications MUST be received by then for anyone wanting to apply for a coaching position. Qualified applicants will receive a call and an interview will be scheduled for the morning of January 30th.
Welcome
We are so glad you have decided to stop by and visit our team site. Our primary aim is the development of personal skills and goals through the positive experience of competitive swimming, within the guidelines set forth by the Central Valley Recreational Swim League (CVRSL).

2010 Season Volunteers Needed!
Hello Marlin's Parents and Swimmers:
The Marlins Board is already working to make this the best season yet! Of course, we need everyone's help to do that. So, we want to start by asking parents to volunteer for positions now, so we will all be on the same page once practice starts.
Below are the volunteer positions we need to fill with a brief description of what we are looking for. We know that you are all gifted in unique ways and we want to use your talents effectively. If you helped in an area last year and would like to continue in that area, please let us know (and Thanks in advance for your help!) If there is something you really want to do to assist the team this season, but do not see it below, please feel free to send us an email along with an explanation of how you would like to help.
1 Volunteer Coordinator: This person would manage all volunteer positions-making sure all spots are filled for swim meets. He or she would be provided with an email list and/or phone list, as well as a list of all volunteer positions that need to be filled. He or she will also have an assistant who will help contact people and fill positions. (It would be helpful if either of these people were bi-lingual)
1 Assistant Volunteer Coordinator: This person will help the coordinator to contact volunteers, and fill in where necessary.
HOME MEETS:
1) Computer input: We will need 2 people to work with the swim software and input names/times, etc. (If this is a returning volunteer-Fabulous! If not, we will provide you with training before the meets begin) We will also need 1 runner to pick up time sheets and give them to the computer table.
2) Ribbons: We need 2 people to put labels on ribbons and prepare for the visiting team to take home at the end of the meet. This person would also be responsible for handing out the ribbons at practices).
3) Hospitality: We need 1 coordinator who would work with the Volunteer coordinator to get people signed up for snacks. We will need 2 people on deck to pass out snacks to timers, provide drinks, sharpen pencils, etc. (and at least 4 families per meet to provide snacks. Signups for making snacks will be on registration day).
4) On Deck Staff: 1 starter, 1 head timer, 2 stroke and turn judges who will either need to be returning volunteers and/or be trained in early spring.
5) Snack Bar: (2-3 helpers each hour. These helpers can sign up on registration day) P.J. Method will coordinate
6) Timers and recorders as assigned (these people will sign up on registration day).
7) Parent Helpers for lining up swimmers (these positions will also be available for sign up on registration day).
8) Clean-up: We need everyone to clean up at the end of our meets please.
AWAY MEETS:
1) Timers and recorders as assigned (these people will sign up on registration day).
2) Computer person to get meet results and ribbons.
3) Clean-up: Everyone please.
Other positions:
1) Fundraising: 1 coordinator who will organize fundraising activities along with the board and 3-4 helpers.
2) Team-Wear: (1 person to purchase suits, t-shirts, hats, etc) Crystal Shenk
3) Program: We would like to have 1 person who would like to create a program for each home meet that would include our sponsors and other information.
4) Team Photographer: We need 1 person who would like to take action shots of our swimmers which could be used on our team site (www.reedleymarlins.blogspot.com) and used to create a slideshow at the end of the season. Ideally, we could also have photos displayed on the site and this person could sell prints for a small fee (and use it as a fundraiser).
Thanks for taking the time to carefully consider how you would like to be a part of the team for the 2010 season. You may respond with your requests, comments and questions to reedleymarlins@yahoo.com.
See you soon!
